Every Year the Festivals are getting louder, flashier; but somewhere along, have we forgotten why it started?
Though there is a controversy about whether Shivaji Maharaj or Lokmanya Tilak started the tradition to celebrate Ganesha Chaturthi, in both cases it was only meant to bring the youth together, form unity and use it as a power.
But as time passed, the tradition where an entire colony or an entire village gathered for devoting Ganesha Idol somehow became the tradition of pride. We can find 2-3 Mandals in each lane. It can be stated as a war happening, where rather than the number of devotees the number of speakers matters, where the size, shape, and design of the idols has become more important than the Ganesha himself..!!!
Now, we can conclude that "WE" create traditions and WE are responsible for the activities done during the Festival whether devotional or non-devotional.
